Day 3 · A full day in Berlin
A full day without driving creates room for Berlin's history, architecture, Malin's shops and neighbourhoods without turning the programme into a sprint.
The plan
One coherent route through the city
The car stays in Hotel MOA's multi-storey car park, entered from Birkenstrasse 21. Bershka in the Mall of Berlin and Urban Outfitters near Alexanderplatz are woven into the route; the Reichstag requires advance registration if the dome is included.

Buy one Berlin AB 24-hour small-group ticket in the BVG app before the first journey. It covers two adults and one 14-year-old child as long as everyone travels together.

Start at Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag and the government quarter.

Walk via the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe to Bershka in the Mall of Berlin, continue to Checkpoint Charlie, then travel to Urban Outfitters at Weinmeisterstraße 10 near Alexanderplatz.

Finish at the Berlin Wall and East Side Gallery, followed by dinner in Friedrichshain or Kreuzberg.
The hotel decision is final and the stay is booked for 2 adults and one 14-year-old child in 1 room.

One BVG ticket for the family
Buy one 24-hour small-group ticket in the BVG Ticket or Fahrinfo app. Only one adult needs the app, but the phone holding the ticket must stay with the group and have enough battery. Activate the mobile ticket before the first journey; a paper ticket from a machine must be validated. The ticket covers U-Bahn, S-Bahn, buses and trams.

Two of the city's defining landmarks sit close together. The Reichstag dome normally needs advance registration.

Malin's first shopping stop is on the first floor of the Mall of Berlin. The centre is also known for its large indoor tube slide; check that it is operating closer to the visit.

The former border crossing is a natural historical stop after Leipziger Platz and can be combined with a walk through central Kreuzberg.
