A Norwegian home-cinema knowledge site launched in 1997, actively updated until around 2012 and brought back to life in 2026.
I started hjemmekino.no in 1997. From 1998 to 2004 the site was part of Akers Mic, and since 2004 it has been independent. It grew from an interest in picture and sound into a place for explaining AV technology and helping people make better choices.
The site was actively updated until around 2012. Demanding workdays, particularly my work with Altinn, made it difficult to continue at the same pace. In 2026, hjemmekino.no becomes active again: I have more time, and new technology makes it possible to maintain the project within the day’s 24 hours.
The project established a pattern I have returned to repeatedly: learn the details, organize them clearly and publish the result on an independent website.
